8-10 million windshields are replaced per year in the U.S. because of stones impacting on the edge of the glass and creating an edge crack. Many people say to us that their windshield just cracked, I didn't hear it get hit.  After examining the crack however, you can almost always find an impact on the outside 3 inches from the edge.  Usually the impact point that started the crack is as small as a dot of ink on a sheet of paper.  Find out why windshields crack at the edge.
