Many Windshield Replacement Shops will try to sell you a windshield when you do not need one.

You may call your windshield chip or crack repair in to you insurance company before you call us for an appointment. However there are some things you need to know first. Most insurance companies use Safelight Auto Glass or Lynx network to process their claims. Safelight has over 5,000 stores and manufactures their own windshields. Lynx is also a windshield manufacturer.

When you call the claims number on the back of your insurance card and push the prompt for windshield repair you will automatically be routed to Safelight or Lynx. They will ask you what kind of damage you have. If you tell them you have a crack over 6 inches they will tell you that you will need a windshield replacement. This is not true. We can repair these cracks, Remember they make windshields and need to find homes for them.

Most insurance companies pay for chip repairs. Usually they pay somewhere between $50.00 to $65.00 but they have no pricing for long cracks so there may be a $20 to $40 charge for long cracks and some windshields have chips and cracks.  If you have a crack over 6 inches the Safelight or Lynx Rep will tell you your cracked windshield will need to be replaced. Safelight and Lynx know about our service but they want to sell their windshields. They will tell you we are not a network shop. We have chosen to not be a network shop so we can perform these long crack repairs. Most of our customers are happy to pay a little more to repair a crack up to 36 inches. Many times the chip repair price is reasonable and there would be no extra charge. If you have up to 3 chip repairs there will be no extra charge except in unusual instances of large damages. If you have more than 3 windshield chip repairs there may be a small charge out of pocket.
